In the world of elite sport, teamwork plays an integral role in success.
It’s no different in business. The Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel’s long-standing relationship with Bedpost allows us to combine both aspects into the ultimate partnership.
Bedpost’s recent success in the Westpac New Zealand Franchise Awards is testament to the leadership of Robert Fowler and the company’s commitment to investing positively in the community. As we prepare for our next ANZ Championship campaign, its inspiring proof of what hard work can achieve.
In the sporting arena, it’s rare to find a sponsor who is undoubtedly as passionate about the team as we are. Bedpost’s support is unwavering – they’ve even moved franchisee meetings to the other end of the country (braving snow no less!) to cheer on the Steel from the sidelines.
We all know a great night’s sleep is vital to keep us all performing at our best and high performance athletes understand this more than most.
Competing in the world’s toughest netball league takes a gruelling toll physically. Bedpost equipped each of our Steel players with the latest in Tempur technology to ensure they get the best sleep possible – and that’s crucial when you train and play as hard as we do.
We faced a bit of a quandary when we secured Jamaican international Jhaniele Fowler-Reid for our shooting ranks. Finding a bed to fit her towering 1.98m frame was always going to be a bit of a stretch.
On arrival in Invercargill, the tallest player in the ANZ Championship discovered her feet hung over the end of her bed. So Bedpost came to the party and commissioned a custom-built bed which extends over 2.1m.
The following year, the bed was upgraded to a super king as Jhaniele welcomed husband Andre to Steel territory. What a fabulous wedding gift.
Steel are extremely proud of our association with Robert, Julia and the wider Bedpost team and appreciate the incredible ‘support’ they provide – day and night!
